A wonderful juxtaposition of hauntingly beautiful melodies and vocals which can somehow be at once soothing and gentle while abrasive and oppressive. Blow off steam and go to your zen place by smashing glasses against a wall.
I don't think the term 'witch house' stretched far at first, but it has expanded to encompass a wide variety of atmospheres and tempos such to the point it has become generic and non-descriptive. These artists exemplify the kinds of innovative and unique styles that continue to evolve and milestone the "scene", wherever or whatever that scene may be. Call it whatever you want, it's amazing.
At first most tracks didn't jive for me, but after a few listens it grew on me immensely. I have the vinyl now, and this has become one of my favorite Blvck Ceiling releases. Amazing artist. Absolutely amazing.
Sometimes an album becomes an anthem for a season, a semester, a trial, a triumph, or some other period of human time not measured in minutes. This is mine, right now, and I hope everyone can own this anthem at some point in their lives.
All the things I love about modern electronically based music from the dark end of the spectrum, with touches that bring me back through decades of the music that brought us to this point. Uniquely haunting vocals contrast abrasive sounds in just the right proportions in an arresting tempo. Can't wait to hear more.
This is by far one of the most uniquely innovative things I've ever heard that ACTUALLY sounds amazing, rather than being some unapproachable novelty one keeps in their library to feel eclectic. A beautiful release from some beautiful artists with no parameters.
Caden is not bound by any genre title. In my mental lists, he inhabits many styles suitable for various moods, and soothes them well. Lake Radio has long been a favorite of mine for various activities, and the plasticity of style is why. This is a great example of that plasticity.
