    Alleyways Alleyways
Fucking great EP. If you go to the ravennawoods.net site you can order the 7" for alleyways/animal, sounds AMAZING on vinyl. Super hooky and really well written/performed. Matt Bayles of Minus The Bear fame produced this, sounds phenomenal.
Check out Ravenna Wood's back catalogue for a ton of good music.

Love it all, especially the first six tracks. Super catchy, smart, kinda local natives/ other lives like, cept a little more lean and poppy.

    False Idols False Idols
Another stellar EP Following the S/T from about a year back. Think early REM with more of an edge. These songs are meticulous in their execution, the songwriting and overall skill of the musicians is at the least intimidating.
Buy it!!! Then grab the EP before this, not "the ruling class," the self titled EP that opens with the absolutely KILLER track "pilgrim."
Basically for ten bucks you can get what amounts to a spectacular 10 track pop album, these guys and Ravenna Woods are Seattle's best active bands composing, no doubt. You do not wanna miss this train. Buy them!!!!!!!!

Luke Abbott crowned himself king of ...what you could call deconstructed ambient music, with "Wysing Forest."
That album, and all that has come since, Mr Abbott has really blossomed from an artist who showed a ton of promise with his first LP, and two EP's leading up to "Wysing Forest," to being my uncontested favorite electronic artist. The synth tones, the pacing of the dynamic inflection, the beautifully composed chord progressions.... no one comes close.
I'm a big fan of "burial," "four tet," the pomegranate album by "nicolas jaar," ..... But wow wow wow.
This album reminds me a lot of the long running mid to late 70's ambient jazz experiments like Keith Jarrett's quartet work. I can't imagine a fan of ambient music being disappointed by this, or "music for a flat landscape," or "Wysing Forest," .......I know he doesn't get a lot of press. But holy shit. What an amazing artist.

The beats on this are so cool. They sound loose, not so rigorously sequenced or something, there's an ease an quality to these songs that's hard to pin down. Fantastic release from KH. As usual.

amazing leap ahead from the fantastic "ruling class EP," this one's a bit more upbeat, more fuel to the fire. buy it and be content, knowing you consumed something worthy of your attention.
