A few of the songs reminded me of the ominous Afrobeat thing that Budos Band do, but the cinematic sound was the special sauce that made this album so excellent. The strings on The Gateway are goosebump-inducingly good.
The worst thing about this tune is, it's so ridiculously catchy that now I've got Ian Brown's words running through my brain at odd times of the night. Thanks a lot.
