Picture it, it’s the 1980’s and the Soviet Union is at its peak, with the “Iron Curtain” in full effect. No Western influence may enter. So people resorted to smuggling in bootleg music and movies that the people so clamored for. Some early 80’s New Wave gets snuck into the USSR, and some music geeks love the sound. “Hey! Let’s make our own! But in minor key, and depressive, yet still catchy and danceable!”

Shame about the band having to break up, because they really had something special going with this album. I own the vinyl, and it’s one I cherish
