Carpenter Brut's Leather Teeth has been in my rotation all week. Im on my 3rd listen through and so far I'm thoroghly enjoying it.

Its been quite the wait since Trilogy came out and honestly, it's undeniably a Carpenter Brut record.

I do enjoy seeing him progress as an artist, and it really is breathing a new life into the genre. Unlike other synthwave artists out there, our French friend is fully embracing the cheese involved in the genre. The album almost has a tongue in cheek feel and as a fellow corny motherfucker, I love it.

Not once does he take this album too seriously. There are some real bangers on here too. The title track, sunday brunch, the end track, monday hunt, inferno galore and hairspray hurricane are in my opinion, some of his best effort to date. The melodies and hooks are a blast to listen to.

As with most synthwave albums I could do without the tracks featuring vocals. Nevertheless they are very authentic for what he is trying to do and I appreciate that. If i was into that kind of thing, it would be great. The cheerleader effect and beware the beast are somewhat a chore to listen to for me.

Personal opinion on his choices for vocals aside, I would say this is a great overall album and is definitely worth your $10 via bandcamp.

I give it a solid 7/10.
