The Rules of Dung Beetle Traffic The Rules of Dung Beetle Traffic
This is really different, the quite alien insectoidal sounds make for compelling listening, and the occasional reassuring regular rhythmic patterns ensure that I, as an human audient, don't lose my way completely in this sonic view of an alien civilisation.

Dreaming Awake (Son Lux Mix) Dreaming Awake (Son Lux Mix)
Fantastic arrangements, a voice that hooked me straight away, as original as Bjork.
  19. Unrecorded Beam
by Billy Bottle & The Multiple
    The Vessel The Vessel
Why? It's melodic, experimental, proggy, jazzy; the shape of the music undulates like the hilly landscape it was born in, the vocals perfectly uncurl Thoreau's poems- bedded in gorgeous multifaceted arrangments, the soloing is a joy to listen to, the sound stage is lustrous. It's the Canterbury sound reborn... and it ought to be recognised as a prog/jazz classic. Not to be missed.
  20. Genesis
    by Ocular Corp.
    Arcana Arcana
I'm only listening through this for the first time. Arcana is quite terrifying, a depiction of a civilisation being destroyed? Iris starts of with the opening of Brahms 4th Symphony discernible through layers of sonic dirt from which radio voices emerge. A strange and very interesting dark ambient album
  21. Infinite garden
    by Elve
Well, Matt Hillier has produced a staggering amount of music, and there's no way I'll ever get around to hearing it all. But Ishq, Ishvara, Elve, Colourform,Open System have really opened my ears to Ambient music- I can feel the amount of hard work that has been poured into his music, the attention to detail as well as the playful inventiveness, and I really enjoy what he has done.
