I'll Not Contain You I'll Not Contain You
Not particularly a huge folk fan, but goddamn this album is beautiful. It has elements of psychedelia, folk, noise rock and ambient to it to create a wonderful mix of compositions. It's nice and long but not too drawn out at the same time. It can feel like a warm blanket or a melancholic cloud depending on how you're feeling whilst listening.

CURL UP IN A BALL AND CRY!!!

BOO BOO BOO BOO BOOOOOOO!!! SKRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

On a serious note, Danhausen is a DISGUSTING beat!!!

HAZARD DUTY PAY! HAZARD DUTY PAY!
Peggy somehow continues to live up to his reputation everytime and LP! is no exception. It's loud, chaotic, off-kilter, leftfield and most importantly, fucking amazing. There are so many notable moments on this album and each song has it's own unique sound. Peggy continues to innovative in a landscape that diminishes creativity and it's so inspiring to watch/listen to. I love everything about JPEG and this album.

ONE OF THE BEST RELEASES OF 2021!!!
  7. Yasuke
    by Flying Lotus
    Crust Crust
The simple fact is that there is magic in here that just isn't available in any other FlyLo album. The whimsicality that is present due to the Japanese influence combined with the hectic electronic elements is amazing. Crust is one of my fav songs this year with that disgusting flamenco-esk bassline provided by the GOAT, Thundercat. There are lackluster tracks but that's mostly because at the end of the day, it's an OST to an average anime (don't crucify me!!!).

    OST OF THE YEAR!!!
  8. Van Gogh's Left Ear
    by ZelooperZ
Battery Prod. Dilip and Holy Rain Battery Prod. Dilip and Holy Rain
This is practically Abstract-Trap. It's wacky, goofy, experimental, crazy etc. There is a taste of everything on this album with the latter half being my fav side. The bangers on this album are stuck on repeat such as Battery, Ticking Time Bomb,
Each and every Moment, Don't Leave, Badman and the title track.

    THIS IS CRACK TRAP!!!
  9. Om Shanti Om
    by Don Cherry
    Luna Turca Luna Turca
This album is beautiful, spiritual, calming and otherworldly. Each track oozes with passion and the tracklist is so good with only one skip (Flute Song). My first introduction to Don Cherry and as soon as I heard the first track (Luna Turca), I was hooked. The chanting combined with the simple drums + guitar is heavenly. Every time I listen to this album it puts me into a hypnotic trance.

    A GALORE OF SPIRITUAL TUNES!!!

Krystle (URL Cyber Palace Mix) Krystle (URL Cyber Palace Mix)
THIS IS A CERTIFIED HOOD CLASSIC! Seriously tho, this album is fuckin insane. Mixing Breakbeats, Jungle, Drum & Bass, Hardcore and a plethora of other genres to create this truly unique audible ecstasy. Found the album on Youtube, clicked on it because it had a dope cover art, and here we are. I feel transported whenever I listen to this shit and the album has unprecedented energy. It's like a laser tag playlist but cranked up about 10,000...

    ACID FOR YOUR EARS!!!
  11. Haram
by Armand Hammer & The Alchemist
Falling Out The Sky featuring Earl Sweatshirt Falling Out The Sky featuring Earl Sweatshirt
The duo spit bars for days on here, commenting on the current racial struggles and tension within the U.S. Hard to tell who's rapping in some of the tracks tho, their voices sound pretty alike. NGL tho, in my opinion, The Alchemist really stole the show. Sir Benni Miles is a great intro to the album, embracing the darkness and its a fucking good song. The lighter songs are also fucking awesome. Falling out the sky is now one of my favourite songs of the year.

THIS IS DARK AND SICK AF!!!
  12. Pray For Haiti
    by Mach-Hommy
The Stellar Ray Theory The Stellar Ray Theory
The dense and intricate bars paired with the dusty, soft, sweet beats is a match made in heaven!!!!! Mach has crazy pen game here but his hook game is also on full display throughout the album. A bit lighter than the typical grimey Griselda Records sound, but the album weaves perfectly through each song with the producer's themselves having portions of the album to themselves making it feel more collaborative between rapper and producer.

ABSTRACT HIP-HOP ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!
  13. MF DOOM X TATSURO YAMASHITA
    by Tanda
    Windy Ladies Windy Ladies
Who would've known that MF DOOM and Tatsuro Yamashita could be so fuckin goooooood!!!!!! The basslines and DOOM's vocals absolutely carry these tracks and I love it.

AN ESSENTIAL FOR MF DOOM FANS!!!
  14. Daddy's Home
    by st. vincent
Live In The Dream Live In The Dream
A divine mix of glam rock, blues, art pop and psychedelia sprinkled with elements of funk, it's a refreshing throwback to the 70's. Not only is the instrumentation lush and varied but so is Annie Clark's lyrical ability on this LP. Diving into family troubles and paying homage to many pop icons of the 70's period, the lyrical content is never boring. A 9/10 which is only held back due to slight overproduction on certain tracks.

A SERIOUS CONTENDER FOR ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!
  15. Forest of Lost Children
    by Kikagaku Moyo
    Kodama Kodama
The most traditional psych-rock project these guys have made. They stick to the classic formula but adding their own twists and turns to each song. Kodama is the absolute stand-out for me and is genuinely my favorite Kikagaku Moyo song of all time and not gonna lie, the 2021 reissue gold vinyl looks so cool!

PLAY THIS SHIT AT A PARTY AND GO CRAZY!!!
  16. Stone Garden
    by Kikagaku Moyo/幾何学模様
    Backlash Backlash
Weird? Experimental? Harsh? Psychedelic? Awesome? YES! Backlash goes hard af and makes you feel like your on a fuckin rocketship! Nobakitani starts off sweet and then proceeds to take you through a weird journey. Trilobites feels like your in a cool underground Tokyo club. In a coil is bouncy with the sitar driving the song. Floating leaf is a beautiful calm tune that makes you feel like the title of the track... a floating leaf

A HARDCORE TWIST TO THEIR TYPICAL SOUND, AND IT'S STILL GREAT!!!
  17. Masana Temples
    by Kikagaku Moyo/幾何学模様
    Nana Nana
Entrance is a beautiful opener. Nana literally has a sitar solo at the end which is insane... Nothing more needs to be said. Majupose has a sick bassline and it's in 7/4 which is cool, and Dripping Sun is a sonic experience that speeds up and down through multiple tempos. This album is definitely the chillest thing they've released so far. Also the first vinyl I've bought on Bandcamp :)

    CRAZY PSYCHEDELIC ALBUM!!!
  18. Kikagaku Moyo
    by Kikagaku Moyo/幾何学模様
    Tree Smoke Tree Smoke
Literally one of my favourite ep's of all time, made by one of my favourite bands of all time!!! Insane psychedelic sounds on all tracks but Tree Smoke and Lazy Stoned Monk are on another level. Ze No Senaka also has a super cool Black Sabbath vibe to it which can also be heard during the last half of Tree Smoke.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!
