There are a few bands I wanted to compare this to at first, though as the work progressed I realised this is something else entirely. Superb melodies, pacing and tone.
On the previous album I said 'Woods of Desolation vibes' and while the genre on this second album is similar, I think the sound has really grown, and found its own unique place that deserves more than being compared to anything else. The drumming on the first track in particular felt very varied and crisp while not losing any of the beloved atmosphere. I love this work and look forward to more!
Really something special here, I hope to hear more from this artist in this style. Sweeping, crushing, uplifting. Great production. Hard to pick a favourite track, no low points which is rare to hear.
Another gem from Odium Nostrum on YouTube. Love the atmosphere and production on this. Just the right amount of crisp and murky. Uplifting, almost hopeful build up on the last track where the bass is very steady yet hypnotic. Great stuff from Scotland!
