  1. Vruguun
    by Tjolgtjar
    00:00/00:00
I'm Your Daughter I'm Your Daughter
The simplest way to sum up Tjolgtjar's swansong, Vruguun, is to say that it's a natural musical progression for the band. What makes it really unique is it's a natural progression of the entire discography of the band on one album. Imagine a greatest hits record made entirely of new songs instead of the old classics. That's Vruguun.
  2. Ikarikitomidun, Lord of the Forest
    by Tjolgtjar
    00:00/00:00
    Snakebite Cowgirl Snakebite Cowgirl
Psychedelic hard rocking heavy metal greatness now comes in black metal flavor! Those who are tired of the bullshit in the USBM scene should take in this breath of fresh air and rejoice in the Occult American Patriotism that is Tjolgtjar.
  3. Five Tjolgtjarian Keys
    by Tjolgtjar
    00:00/00:00
The Third Key - Therinium The Third Key - Therinium
The first half, known as the Five Tjolgtjarian Keys, is the obvious highlight of this compilation. Five tracks of insane heavy metal, hard rock, and black metal riffage combined with harsh black metal shrieks and tastefully placed clean vocals. A heavy, but surprisingly tasteful dose of psychedelia. A heaping dose of occult. This shit is pure black magic.
  4. The New Age
    by Tjolgtjar
    00:00/00:00
    Cahokian Legacy Cahokian Legacy
I like to view The New Age as a spiritual successor to Ikarikitomidun, Lord of the Forest. It has that same heavy metal meets southern rock meets first and second wave black metal that resonated so strongly with me. That strong sense of American patriotism. Tjolgtjar is a giant "fuck you" to everything pretentious in the black metal scene.
  5. I Am a Wolf

United States Black Metal Mafia: HellsLegions United States Black Metal Mafia: HellsLegions
When J.R. Preston tells you he's a wolf, you better damn well listen! As far as compilations of demos and splits go, this is top fucking notch. Feels more like a comprehensive album than you'd expect.
  6. Kjal Tjormejn
    by Tjolgtjar
    00:00/00:00
    Kjal Tjormejn Kjal Tjormejn
It's like the Amboy Dukes teamed up with Mercyful Fate to do a 40+ minute black metal jam. It's a fucking masterpiece.
  7. Halloween
    by Tjolgtjar
    00:00/00:00
    Judith Myers Judith Myers
Compared to most Tjolgtjar records, this is a pretty no-nonsense black metal record. Compared to other black metal bands, this is still wacky as shit. If you dig the sounds of classic horror soundtracks and black metal with some experimentation, this is the Tjolgtjar record for you.
  8. Dream Dragon
    by Ice Dragon
    00:00/00:00
For Once in My Life For Once in My Life
This is the pinnacle of Ice Dragon's discography for me. A very natural progression from the previous albums, it's downright dreamlike. I've never heard a doom rock record quite as surreal as this one. Highly recommended.
  9. The Burl, The Earth, The Aether
    by Ice Dragon
    00:00/00:00
    The Watcher The Watcher
One of Ice Dragon's best. This album is trippy and downright creepy, making me feel pretty damn uneasy throughout. One of their most doom metal oriented releases and I love it for that. Doom patrol, ride out!
  10. Born a Heavy Morning
    by Ice Dragon
    00:00/00:00
The Past Plus the Future is Present The Past Plus the Future is Present
The doom metal is gone, but the original spirit of Ice Dragon is very much present! Anyone who thought Ice Dragon ended with Dream Dragon can DREAM ON! Metal or not, this record is heavy as the morning it was born on.
  11. A Beacon on the Barrow
    by Ice Dragon
    00:00/00:00
    The Arrival The Arrival
This was Ice Dragon's big return to the doom metal style and HOLY SHIT is it fucking heavy. There's only one catch, and Ice Dragon fans will have already guessed it: it sounds nothing like their old stuff. Guess what? It doesn't matter. They've not only made a record that will please their old fans, but a record that will please fans of more traditional doom metal as well.
  12. The Sorrowful Sun
    by Ice Dragon
    00:00/00:00
    Flowers Flowers
A very similar record when compared to "The Burl". That being said, the surreal aspects on this record are amplified. Another great psychedelic doom experience that will leave you feeling uneasy!
  13. Tome of the Future Ancients
    by Ice Dragon
    00:00/00:00
Steal Away From Hell Steal Away From Hell
  14. Seeds From a Dying Garden
    by Ice Dragon
    00:00/00:00
The Great Blue Heron The Great Blue Heron
Probably their lightest album. For the average metal or heavy rock band, that might be a problem, but not for Ice Dragon. These guys could probably record themselves taking a shit and it would sound good. Another awesome record.
  15. Ingot Eye
    by TENTACLE
    00:00/00:00
The Blackness of My Soul Will Be So Great as to Make the Night Weep The Blackness of My Soul Will Be So Great as to Make the Night Weep
Chances are you're here because you're a fan of Ice Dragon's doom material or you've been told that Ingot Eye is a tremendously heavy and dark record. If either of those apply to you, this album is more than easy to recommend.

Love blues rock? Looking for something you can both chill out to AND rock out to? Whoopie Cat have got the blues and they've got the tunes that will make you feel like you're sitting in an comfortable reclining chair, rocking out like a god damn king.

I was a big fan of Ulver's Kveldssanger and Agalloch's The White EP, so this fit right in to that niche for me.
