first album of yours i got into. (understandably, since it's probably the most accessible to those unfamiliar with breakcore and the other cool weird genres you do.) the two rat king world champion albums were basically the anthems of my starting HRT. will always hold a special place in my heart.

bleak, full of self hate but optimistic in spite of it. there isn't a more appropriate anthem i could have had for the beginning of my transition. these albums helped a lot with transitioning in the early days because it made me feel less alone and my world feel less empty. you channeled your experiences into your songs in a way that i could feel and relate to my own. you opened up channels of expression for me that i never had before, and during the time when i needed them most.

also helped me through tough times. one of the first albums of yours i heard, and i still remember the names to all the songs, something i usually have a hard time with with this type of music.

these came out when i was homeless in Seattle for a day after failing to move there (and hating myself for it) before running to my grandma's house where I boymoded and halfway lived in my car and relapsed into fulltime escapism and drugs worse than I'd ever been before. my week in Seattle before it all came crashing down, however, was magical. this album makes me feel all of that. i now live near Seattle and am pretty much self sufficient. :)

the original cry to survive accompanied me during a very difficult rut and relapse, and the album released during a very pivotal part of my life, the song evolving alongside me. will always be one of the most important musical pieces to me forever.

being forced to release it earlier than she wanted sucks, but there's also something kind of artistic and authentic about it too. also, despite technically not being finished, it's still the hardest slapping shit i've ever heard. and i really feel Quit While You're Ahead in my soul.
