I've really been into the Synthwave stuff lately and I'm excited to have found the Dead Astronauts. They capture the 80's nostalgia in many ways through their sound, but they infuse it with just enough modern vibe for that lasting appeal. Emotional melodies complemented by pulsing bass lines and those familiar 80's synth effects. I love this!

Escape From Midwich Valley Escape From Midwich Valley
Dark, gritty, heavy and funky. One of the more intelligent and varied acts on the Synthwave scene. Can't decide on the favorite track, but the first two tracks always get me pumped and they really set the mood for the rest of the album.

Classic swedish death! Earache has done a great job (some might think of it as a way to cash in on the classics) by releasing some of it's back catalogue in FDR.

I'd recommend comparing the recent CD -pressings of these early Entombed albums, to these FDR versions back to back.

You might prefer the muddier and more booming sound of the CD releases, but personally I prefer the crispier and punchier sound of these versions. Now I can actually hear what the bassist is doing!

The first, great album find of 2013 for me! This album succeeds at sounding fresh in it's genre (kinda hard to categorize though). The Soviet space race concept fits the albums mood perfectly too. Thanks to Angry Metal Guy, for pointing this out!

Perfect blend of heavy riffs and melody. The albums sound is well balanced and crisp. In overall a great album from start to finish! Props to Angry Metal Guy, for bringing this album to my attention.
