We Can't Afford (Your Depression Anymore) We Can't Afford (Your Depression Anymore)
From the awesome cover photo to the wonderful songs and lineup, THIS IS AN ALBUM ON PAR WITH ANYTHING ISSUED IN THE 70s OR 80s, before things went digital. I feel Will's pain. I see the conflict and the desire. I'll listen to this record so loud my ears bleed, just to hear it better.

(I'm really sorry someone changed the LP's picture, however...")
  7. Twin Fantasy
    by Car Seat Headrest
OMG!!! I'm as giddy as a schoolboy after his first soul kiss! I dreamed of Will re-recording this LP, then thought "Nah, why would he want to revisit his misspent youth?"

As if we all wouldn't, given the chance (and a recording budget). Thanks, Will.
  8. Teens Of Denial
    by Car Seat Headrest
First, my fave track is "Connect the Dots", so WTF is the dropdown about?I am amazed I am that a record of this depth and quality was written recorded and released in 2016. The intensity and sincerity with which Will and band perform this music; the honesty with which Will delivers his sentiments; the direct manner in which Car Seat Headrest confront the that miracle we call life is astounding. This won't be CSH's best record, but it will be a killer part of the canon.

I don't know. There's something about the absolutely dizzying variety of music here. How do so many ideas come out of one brain?

Nice, early live work. The version of "Act Suspicious" here is fucking KILLER!

Sober To Death Sober To Death
OMG. Just listened to this in an "intense" manner (alone, with good speakers, concentrating).
Will's a fucking genius. That song goes through so many twists and turns, it's hard to imagine the mind that could actually create and perform that song for the first time. It boggles my mind that someone can come up with a series of sounds...that's all they are, sounds, whether guitar, voice or whatever...and organize them in such a way that they create a field where I understand what he's feeling.
  17. Monomania
    by Car Seat Headrest
I'm listening to " Anchorite..." for the first time...thinking of an old, old girlfriend who could very well be singing this song to me; and crying my eyes out.

  20. Little Pieces Of Paper With "No" Written On Them

I am afraid of literally everything I am afraid of literally everything
Gee, Will, people like this song because, at one time or another in every honest person's life, they have been afraid of literally everything.
