I don't know. There's something about the absolutely dizzying variety of music here. How do so many ideas come out of one brain?

First, my fave track is "Connect the Dots", so WTF is the dropdown about?I am amazed I am that a record of this depth and quality was written recorded and released in 2016. The intensity and sincerity with which Will and band perform this music; the honesty with which Will delivers his sentiments; the direct manner in which Car Seat Headrest confront the that miracle we call life is astounding. This won't be CSH's best record, but it will be a killer part of the canon.

Sober To Death Sober To Death
OMG. Just listened to this in an "intense" manner (alone, with good speakers, concentrating).
Will's a fucking genius. That song goes through so many twists and turns, it's hard to imagine the mind that could actually create and perform that song for the first time. It boggles my mind that someone can come up with a series of sounds...that's all they are, sounds, whether guitar, voice or whatever...and organize them in such a way that they create a field where I understand what he's feeling.

I'm listening to " Anchorite..." for the first time...thinking of an old, old girlfriend who could very well be singing this song to me; and crying my eyes out.

Gee, Will, people like this song because, at one time or another in every honest person's life, they have been afraid of literally everything.

Gosh, what's not to like? Seminal stuff, demonstrating the first attempts of an extremely fertile mind to get those goddamned sounds outta his head and onto somewhat-obstreporous technology. Glad I discovered GbV back in the early aughts...I now understand how an artist must create, technology be damned!

Just finally listened to this track closely. Geez, it sounds fantastically and remarkably like something my favorites GbV would come up with if they were channeling Nirvana! Glad to see Will carrying the torch for loud shamboling rock!!

From the awesome cover photo to the wonderful songs and lineup, THIS IS AN ALBUM ON PAR WITH ANYTHING ISSUED IN THE 70s OR 80s, before things went digital. I feel Will's pain. I see the conflict and the desire. I'll listen to this record so loud my ears bleed, just to hear it better.

The Ending of Dramamine The Ending of Dramamine
"Dramamine" may be the best song ever written in the "rock" vein. It certainly has the best chorus ever written (and that includes Lennon & McCartney and E. Costello, so he's in good company):

    "I was young,
    I was thin,
    I had money
    and I loved you.
But then came the shabba de bop bop be shibby day oh yeah."

With this one stanza, Will summmarizes what it's like to be on the cusp of a wonderful adulthood...and what it's like when it comes crashing down...using the lexicon of classic doo-wop rock
