From The Mouth Of Gabriel From The Mouth Of Gabriel
Considering how much I come back to this EP, i wanted to leave a comment. I don't know what to say though. On long bicycle rides through the countryside, "from the mouth of Gabriel" is my sermon, on hungover sundays "The Owl …" is my ether, on rainy afternoons "heirloom" is my sunshine and in longing, "djohariah" has been my mantra. Sufjan, you beautiful boy.

If you own a record player, get the vinyl. The D-side (not present on digital release) is sublime

As dreamy as it is groovy, as melancholy as it is gay.
This record must have been written to make love and shed tears to. A fabulous find.
  8. The Age of Adz
    by Sufjan Stevens
    Impossible Soul Impossible Soul
Challenging at first, this is probably Sufjan's most rewarding album, given the time to grow on you. It's 23-minute grand finale, is a masterpiece in itself. Take the time and open your ears. Don't be distracted, it's not so impossible.
  9. Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers
    by The National
As a huge National fan, every album, in it's own way, is my favorite. If I had to say why this one, it would have to be the overall atmosphere. Though it contains some stellar songs in their own right(Cardinal song, Lucky you), this album feels very together touching on recurring themes of love, disillusion, faithfulness, honesty. There is a lot to be discovered when diving into the lyrics. Also: This must be the single greatest album-title ever.
  10. The National
    by The National
Most people coming to the National now, probably see stadium-filling band, with poignant lyrics and dense instrumental arrangements. I love that National as much(probably more than)as the next guy. What I love most about this, homonymous release, is that it also offer's a glimpse into the National as a band playing a small pub concert. With good songwriting, moving lyrics and easily tourable instrumentation. A valuable insight into the early days of my all-time favorite band.
