Math Rock influenced Shins. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this record is. Just listen to it and feel it work its magic.
  13. Set Fire
    by The Box Tiger
One of the most intriguing voices I've heard over this gritty and inspired instrumentation. Deserves more and more looks every day.
  14. Quitters
    by Lauren O'Connell
The Same Things The Same Things
Lauren is a rarely celebrated kind of musician, one who's sincere above all else. Her quiet delivery and heartbreaking choice of perfect metaphor and all too real stories only hold you closer. Lauren got me hooked to her words on YouTube, but sold me when I saw her live, where her voice transformed from this quiet and controlled method of delivery to an emotional powerhouse that kicked me in the gut. I have sincerely not looked at singer-songwriters the same way since.
  15. Person, Place, or Thing
    by Way, Shape, or Form
A Subtle Misspelling A Subtle Misspelling
This is a record that screams brilliance, past, present and future. It's an exercise of control and an even greater display of balance between pure musicianship and a real sensibility for what a good SONG is. This record is going to last for a long time. That's a promise.
  16. String & Twine
    by Tancred
I sincerely wonder some days if Now, Now was not just a supergroup of three world famous musicians put together before each artist became world famous due to some sort of Time Lord intervention. Jess Abbott is a wizard on guitar, and her imagery is unassuming at first until it takes complete hold of your brain for days.
  17. We Are Rising - Instrumental
    by Son Lux
Let Go - Instrumental Let Go - Instrumental
I will listen to the instrumentals and the full record back to back on repeat on a regular basis. This is electronic music done with grace and hook. This is what I want on my radio every day.
  18. Hard Youth, Hardly You
    by W. C. Lindsay
The Narrow Road to the Deep North The Narrow Road to the Deep North
W.C. Lindsay is exactly what young musicians should aspire to be, creative and forward thinking, and having fun while doing so. There's not a better example of what Philadelphia is doing right now than W. C.
  19. Son Lux (BreakThru Radio Session)
    by Son Lux
Leave The Riches (Live) Leave The Riches (Live)
My absolute favorite live performance of one of the most underrated composers, and insanely talented vocalists. People don't give Ryan enough credit for how emotionally captivating his vocal performance can be. This is proof.
  20. Flex Fantasy
    by AVAN LAVA
Pure As Love Pure As Love
Infectious choruses, cheesy melodies that never leave, Avan Lava is the way throwback throws forward.
