I first became aware of the late Anthony May through his stellar vocal performance as Dickson in Xenoblade Chronicles 1. How lovely to find him reading a collection of Rumi's mystic poetry! The music accompanies the readings perfectly, enhancing the meditative nature of the poetry without distracting from the words themselves. Beautiful.

This may be my favorite album of all time. I was the exact target audience when this was announced in 2017: an established Dreadnoughts fan who'd just started getting into WWI poetry (Sassoon & Owen) as the centenary loomed. Both musically and emotionally, every track of Foreign Skies hits just as hard several years down the road. I'm indebted to my brother for gifting me the purple vinyl: I knew from that transcendent first listen that this album is something to be treasured and preserved.
