The Spires will always remind me of languid days spent on the warm coast of Ventura. Their music has a quality that is uplifting and stoney; melty and wavy, chock full of vibes that take you away on a cloud while simultaneously driving on the 101 north.

It's hard to choose a favorite track on this album because—by jove—every song these boys release are, as the kids say, bangers. Or is it slappers? Bangers and slappers aside, each song on this album is charming in its own right but I have to go with 50 Nic. This song is like flying down a hill on a bike with no breaks while surrounded by verdant, green hills and patches of fragrant flowers. It's new and exciting, yet nostalgic, like the smell of a car that was recently hot boxed in. I love it.
