An artist profile with 'dub' and 'Tangerine Dream' in it deserves a listen. This is reggae dub meets ambient. Great Summer chillout album

I regularly watch his YouTube channel and there are some excellent videos showing how Sequentonal can create some great sounds LIVE. Nice to have some released

It's like Schulze played an Ibiza chillout room, only better.

    by Javi Cánovas
    00:00/00:00
An Daorach Mhor An Daorach Mhor
Wow. His album "In This Moment, In This Place" grabbed me in the same way as this latest offering. All the components for classic Berlin School are there - woven together seamlessly. Lovely intros and powerful sequencing made this as an instant purchase for me.

    by Graham Getty
    00:00/00:00
Will iDream? (Sample) Will iDream? (Sample)
1976 Berlin School has been synthesized in the lab. Getty is Heisenberg and I am a hopeless addict.
    Will iDream is beautifully different.

A nice balance of atmospherics and bass laden sequences. Hopefully the first of many releases from DASK

In This Moment, In This Place In This Moment, In This Place
Chanced upon this gem while listening to Javi's catalogue, after a couple of his recent releases caught my interest. This a series of impressive sequencing sections separated by equally enjoyable slower parts. 16min in is a revisit to 70s Berlin School. Each part is equally enthralling and testament to his skill at layering sequences and creating emotive crescendos. There is even a 'dirty' (in a good way) sound that drives the music at the later stages. An enjoyable ride.

Indeed, a triple espresso ride to the heart of the sequencer universe. Buckle up.

Why this wasn't released as one track - I have no idea. It seems too quiet as well. These annoyances aside, this is a captivating ride. It is caught me straight away and even the distorted bass notes seem to fit with the ranting vocal sample at the end of part 1. Interesting.

    Jurei Jurei
Gert's work is getting better all the time. I have been listening to Focus for a while with a view to purchase and then this came along. They are both equally as good and the sequencing and 'intermissions' are excellent. Just praying for a Blokzijl and Bob Hedger collaboration now
  23. The Incident
by Bob Hedger (aka jah buddha)
    00:00/00:00
    Realisation Realisation
Mellow intros give way to unabashed sequencing that is merely tweaked here and layered there for the entirety of the track. Few manage to mirror the bass sounds from the old classics. Bob does.
  24. Sequential Session: Selected Sessions
    by Arjen Schat
    00:00/00:00
Analog Four + Little Phatty Analog Four + Little Phatty
I am a big fan of Arjen's sequential work. I am very pleased he has made his more recent YouTube releases available lossless. He exhibits great skill in crafting layered sequences. They can sound a just a little too clean and a dusting of Node or Shreeve's 'dirty' sound would be the icing
  25. The Dunes of Playa
    by Gert Blokzijl
    00:00/00:00
The Dunes of Playa The Dunes of Playa
The piano start and relaxing 10 minute intro is really nice but the sequences and drive of the following hour are epic. There are breaks of calm but only brief enough for you to buckle up for the next rhythmic roller-coaster. Brilliant.

Just old school Berlin School. The melodies are not forced and the sequences are clever but subtle; should give it longevity in my playlist.
  28. Sonic Identity
    by Arjen Schat
    00:00/00:00
    Stellar Parallax Stellar Parallax
Arjen really knows how to create some great sequences. Track 1 almost gets lost with the number of layers but with Stellar Parallax, the essence of 70s analogue is delivered in spades. Another great album and I don't think he has reached his potential yet.

    00:00/00:00
    Red Tree Red Tree
This is a massive compilation of tracks that first got me into Gert's music. They are really good, some may say a little spartan / lacking melody but the sequences and layers are captivating and I like almost all the tracks. A nice album if you enjoy Berlin School sequences.
  31. Colder
    by Redshift
    00:00/00:00
    Colder Colder
I played this album several times and just had to buy it. You need to burn it gapless. Shreeve bakes up some awesome sequences that have a raw drive and edgy "Node" type feel. This is my favourite Redshift album.

It's like Shpongle went on a rich diet of bhangra and reggae dub. Well produced too. Try it.

    In Sequence In Sequence
Phenomenal album. Glad I found it, as it oozes 70s Berlin sequences throughout with the ubiquitous swirling intros. Straight to the top of my playlist - brilliant.
  34. Sequentem
    by Arjen Schat
    00:00/00:00
    ASEQ2 ASEQ2
Another sequence-fest from Arjen. He really does know how to create some stunning sequences. Listen with headphones to fully understand. Some different pace throughout with haunting flute sounds on Living Room Session. Very tidy production to the point of losing the "analogue" essence I love, but stunning no less.
  35. Cosmic Ground
    by Cosmic Ground
    00:00/00:00
    Legacy Legacy
I think this was left in a time-capsule in 1977 for me to find! It captures the dark brooding nature of The Sorcerer soundtrack - The Plague broods away without any sequences but is still captivating. Legacy threatens one then unloads at six minutes. Deadlock captures the sound of Ricochet / Rubycon but this isn't a copycat track; a unique homage. Decay doesn't get moving until almost half way through but it isn't dull or monotonous. The 2nd half of Ground doesn't 'peak' for me but still great

Hinterseite Symetrie part one Hinterseite Symetrie part one
I have been waiting for AEM to come to Bandcamp after hearing some on youtube. Although short by most EM standards, it reminds me of the classic 70s mellotron filled rolling sequence ridden tracks of that time. This is my favourite of the recent releases.

The Sound of Magic The Sound of Magic
Imagine the emotion and drive of Moondawn era Schulze combined with the sound and scale of his early 90s epics. That gives you a flavour of this excellent stand out Indra offering. I only discovered him recently and have listened to a few of the Special Edition series. This one was top of the pile for me. Love it

Luckily I found Indra through Bandcamp. Why haven't I heard of him before? Despite the ethnic album art, this is excellent Berlin School reminiscent of epic 80s Schulze concerts but with more going on. Immersing sounds. Lots more from him too.
