  7. Playscapes
    by Tuulikki Bartosik
Very different music to most of what I've heard before from a musician whose authenticity is supported by both virtuoso technique and deep knowledge. Primary Reception and Fyri, perhaps, are earlier indications of this direction but Playscapes is a more complete realisation (?). Can't comment on the other locations but with London (the city in which I live) she nails it!
  8. Duo Michaud Guérin - #2
    by Zabou Guérin, Benoit Michaud
Excellent and adventurous music played superbly by two very accomplished instrumentalists. I love the (almost) New Orleans polyphony from the brass on 'Balcon'. But 'Asperges' is an exhilerating musical journey. This is a great album. A pity it's officially the second and last Michaud-Guerin collaboration but now we can only wait to see what each of them does next.
  9. Brèves de Bayan
    by Zabou Guérin
Beautiful music superbly played. Can't name a favourite track: the Bach is excellent, the first movement of Frank Angelis' Impasse is a virtuosic helter skelter ride in 7/8 and Zabou's own Eveil bodes very well for things to come. This album ought to be in a thousand collections! I love it.

Powerful witchy music ; great harmonies with some percussion but mostly the feel of a ritual evocation performed deep in a forest. They say that Lithuania converted to Christianity in 1387...apparently not everyone was convinced. If you like Laboratorium Piesni, give Sen Svaja a listen.
