Vapnik is a phenomenon. There’s the 90‘s playful creative spirit, the 2000‘s minimal quest for the perfect tone, the 2010s reemergence of deepness, hypnotism & dub elements. Vapnik is all of that, at the same time, and thats what makes him outstanding for me. Wonderful tune, my fav on this great compilation!

I follow Schulz Audio‘s releases carefully, but this Sfumato track is outstanding even in his impeccable discography of numerous gems. This track got those as friendly as etheral sounding cozy chords , the meditative percussion sounding like a reminiscence to old jamaican drum boxes with those wooden timbre & loose funky timecodes. The always smooth & supportive lowend work is the perfect canvas for what was mentioned above. This tune/ep embodies this perfect balance , the golden mean. Love it

Rare corners is like springtime in a dub form. U could see the butterflies floating thru sun rays!
Retracing Steps u gotta listen alone at midnight, very sharp scifi vibe.
Long Tail is a smooth vibey tune that keeps u in motion, love the wooden sounding percussive elements.
Multiplex sounds like a hike on a foreign planet.
Space Echos is a archtype of a soft & dark dubtune. That bassline is incredibly hypnotic.
Vapnik got a lot of attitude & is coming up with the fine art here!

Superb debut. I love the way rhe transients sound, light & crispy. Papayago is my fav, special & unheard vibe in the dub realm. All those nice sounding dark shortdecayed chords and those great percussive sounds & noises showcase a deep & experienced dubhead mind. Lovely release.
