Straight off the bat I was taken to an old Melbourne warehouse filled with players in a garage band set up with vintage electric guitars and amps, piano and Hammond organ with welcomed visitors of cool old country banjo and fiddle, sung with an unaffected Australian voice and from songs that mean it. There were people there sometimes dancing to the distinctive Den Hanrahan style chorus changes and sometimes sitting and staring and going down the rabbit hole ....like I just did.
