This is eaily one of my favorite tapes from Bandcamp. A wildly varied collection of great indie songs and artists (21 songs!), all of them intriguing and interesting. Still very recommended in 2024! Hard to select a favorite track here.
This combination of catchy melodies, vintage drum machines, and tons of reverb on vocals just works. And a real sax! Big plus for the technically well-recorded cassette in beautiful translucent orange color.
Great retro impressions, but with a very individual soundscape design. The first song could have benefited from a louder vocal track. Great stuff, get the cassette!
Desired stands out the most from Neoncity Records' discography, and in particular this album of theirs. The pumping sidechain compression is sometimes overdone, but otherwise every track is a Citypop banger. What a pity I did not manage to grab a cassette!
Luckily managed to snatch a cassette! The soundscapes are amazing and nicely weird, while still catchy. Songwriting, arrangement, and mixing are top notch. Very happy to have found Anniina's work!
Happy to have gotten the cassette. Nicely weird tracks, with vocals charmingly off at times. Very creative stuff for active listening, not for background playback. Despite this being an older release, I find myself coming back to it.
Happy to have gotten this on cassette! A ton of intriguing tunes, either to discover, or as pleasant background music, never boring. The otherwise nicely designed J-card was a slight disappointment - nothing on the inside here. Surely there could have been something to write about artist and tracks.
I liked Desired's self-titled release very much, so had to get "Lovestory" as well, its style feels the closest. Desired must be a fan of the 80ies "Cat's Eye" anime, as tracks 1 and 8 are from its soundtrack.
