They list themselves as metal/hardcore rock, but the first track screams post-punk more than anything else. There are a lot of bands on this site that try and fail, but HOSHIFURU completes the sounds with a fierce and hard-driving sledgehammer that'll make most punk fans very very happy.

I've been a huge fan of akai SKY, but their craft in this genre only improves with Heart, Attack! Most JRock bands in North America try to emulate JRock bands in Japan, but akai SKY has evolved into a sound all their own. "In Black" in particular is a standout track for this band, and I highly recommend listening to it in order to get a sense of why they're making a name for themselves. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table in their next release.

akai SKY's obvious JRock influences are L'arc~en~Ciel, but they bring their own style to that same level of music. The passion and drive to express their love and devotion to this genre oozes from every beat, every strum, and every syllable sung.
