First heard this song on the podcast Old Gods of Appalachia. It instantly took me back to my childhood, parents had deep roots in the East Tennessee, Western North Carolina mountains. My Daddy was a storyteller , I’d sit on the swing late evenings he’d tell stories of the panthers coming through , I’d get goosebumps as he made sounds like those elusive panthers! Thank you for such a hauntingly beautiful song that touched my soul! You captured the spirit of those mountain people.
