The playing on here (along with the rest of Oxbow's discography) is nothing short of genius! And Eugene's performance on Gal and The Virgin Bride are stand out moment's among all their albums! His delivery is so menacing, and he plays these characters like an actor! Every song feels like a horror story or drama or suspense thriller, The Stabbing Hand especially being the most grueling maybe in their whole career (the sense of dread is palpable). A perfect album imo!
