More peer support for the mistreated and abused suffering from ill mental health. Continues in the vein of the previous outing, more on the metal side than the hardcore side, and while It's Hard to Have Hope remains my favorite, this is still my personal album of the year.

Try Not To Die Until You're Dead Try Not To Die Until You're Dead
I generally appreciate the album by album move away from hardcore towards extreme metal. Yet for me personally, this is where the balance is perfect. Kind of like Metallica's Ride the Lightning: subsequent albums were more sophisticated and complex, yet less intense, too. Great to come back to, again and again.
  20. When I Die, Will I Get Better?

Man, I don't remember the last time I was this excited about finding a new band. They were mentioned in an excellent article published in The Lancet Psychiatry: Heavy Metal and Mental Health, which rings bells with me...

On this album, they seem to combine Oathbreaker and Deafheaven, without ever sounding unoriginal, a notable step up in musical refinement without any loss of visceral impact. Angry about all the right things!
