    by The Reset
    Relativity Relativity
Fresh groove, great atmospheric elements, and a great mix makes this one of my favorite EPs of 2012.
  3. Panacea
    by AURAS
    Aporia Aporia
Everything about this album speaks volumes to me; the note selection, the production, the choice of guest musicians, and the song structuring so so intricate and perfectly tweaked. Well done.
  4. Into the Dreamstate

The Serpent And The Static Between Thoughts The Serpent And The Static Between Thoughts
Anthony DiGiacomo has stepped it up a notch. I could not be more blown away by the level of musicianship he has displayed on this release and am forever excited for the next.
  5. Ethereal
    by Sentients
    Everlasting Sanctuary Everlasting Sanctuary
By far the most talented band in the Cleveland metal scene. Joe Malovasic is a great guitarist and songwriter and I am really excited to see where he goes in his musical career.
  6. In Time
    by Intervals
    Mata Hari Mata Hari
THE RIFFS. It's hard to get past the non-stop riffage that guitarists Aaron Marshall and Lukas Guyader have put together. Even harder would be to overlook the impressive and diverse percussion provided by Anup Sastry.

By far my favorite EP of 2012, In Time is the first step in pushing Intervals to the top of a surging instrumental presence in the metal industry.

  9. Call & Response
    by Solace (Canada)
    Our Father Our Father
The long-awaited solo debut from Misery Signals frontman Karl Schubach.

'Call & Response' seems like a very focused and cohesive work. You can really tell Karl put everything he could into this in both the guitars and his vocals which work together extremely well to convey the tones of his songs.

The sole downside to this album was the lack of diversity. If you love his sound like I do, it's a great release. However, if you don't like one or two songs chances are you won't enjoy the rest.
  10. The Fantasy Effect
    by Reflections
    An Artifact An Artifact
I don't know what to say about Reflections other than they have a great ensemble and I expect so much from them in the future.

This album has such good shred, groove, percussion, and intriguing effects in it that it's hard to get bored of.
