  13. An Overview on Phenomenal Nature
    by Cassandra Jenkins
    Hard Drive Hard Drive
"Hard Drive" hits a nerve with a feeling I have trouble naming. It's a deep catharsis that elicits memory -- different ones than those Cassandra sings: Utah and waterfalls, the tree I slept against, and the night after the crash my neck buckling, asking me to rest.
  14. Florist

    Sci-fi Silence Sci-fi Silence
Emily Sprague is such a deft, understated songwriter. There is so much grace and compressed meaning in her lyrics. And these lyrics are only bolstered by the incredible movement of the melody complemented by the whole band at its finest.
  15. Flood
    by Stella Donnelly
    Move Me Move Me
Decades from now, I will continue to spin Stella Donnelly. Super sensible songwriting. An earnestness that reminds me of the yellow sun.
  16. Blue Rev
    by Alvvays
    Belinda Says Belinda Says
Blue Rev sustains. Blue Rev is Alvvay's best record. The sound keeps getting better and better. We're lucky.

  20. An Overview on Phenomenal Nature
    by Cassandra Jenkins
    Hard Drive Hard Drive
The best albums feel like friends. Textures, tones, lyrics, voice – they sit and share the sunset with you. Overview is that for me. This is a gorgeous project overflowing with vulnerability and soul – yet it manages to be concise. Cassandra's pointing at your heart. Here she comes.
