A Toothpaste Suburb was my favorite album of 2014 because with it, I felt that milo finally mastered the poignant and atmospheric sound that he had been experimenting with up to that point. With this album, as well as the (Boyle) and Piles EP, it he is experimenting with new sounds and styles entirely, to much success. The album comes across very DIY, in a good way. Plain Speaking is one of my favorite things to drop in a year stacked with amazing releases.
