  1. I.
    by Cigarettes After Sex
    I'm a Firefighter I'm a Firefighter
Shadowed by the popularity of "Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby" 's 80's dream pop sound, I feel I'm a Firefighter often gets overlooked on this EP. Cigarettes After Sex successfully maintains the moodiness and dreaminess on every track all throughout the EP, but this song takes a sudden deep dip into an abyss of emotion, giving "intimate" and, dare I say "sadness" whole new meanings.

  3. Room For Living EP
    by Marian Mereba
Blue for Mr. Green Blue for Mr. Green
With a painful nostalgia, the song lures you to feel Marian's pain, in such a way that it is strong, but subtly expressed. I find myself listening to the song more and more to help satisfy the sadness that isn't necessarily crystal clear, but more so mysterious. What a beautiful track, and what a way to search and feel for emotion.

  5. Songs For Dads
    by The Walters
    Fancy Shoes Fancy Shoes
Fancy Shoes really encapsulates the innocence in romance, capturing the small but remarkably metaphoric things that make a relationship so significant. The song expresses what I feel is the overwhelmingness that being in love with someone provides. The song is simply the summarization of the constant feeling of wanting to memorize every little thing about the other person--the things that are so lovely, but no one ever writes about.
  6. Asleep in the Heat
    by Annika Zee
I Used to Dream I Used to Dream
Annika Zee uses lots of reverb and chorus effects to really evoke that indie vibe, keeping her instrumentals at the perfect amount to show the uniqueness in her vocals. Her lyrics also complement her sound. "Your kisses are my problems"? Brilliant. I can't explain it.
