Mechina's sound identity on almost all their releases has been typified by complex rhythmic patterns on a single note low drone, with vocal melodies uncoupled floating aetherially over the controlled chaos. Cenotaph is no exception, but it is where they diverge from this pattern that things get interesting. Broken Matter... is an atmospheric instrumental. Andara's Will on the other hand, is the only song I can think of which is in a major key, and for me, the album's triumphant highlight
