I had the opportunity to see Curse the Son perform live at Ralph's Rock Diner, and this group performs a stellar show! Great band redolent of Black Sabbath's first five albums, coupled with a rhythmic blues-inspired percussion.

Mystical and magical are two adjectives that best describe Brume's take on doom metal. Brume constructs an ethereal atmosphere, infused with mesmerizing percussive tempos, and impeding guitar rhythms. Highly recommended.

    Wolfpack Wolfpack
Dagger Moon's debut full-length album, Citadel, envelops the listener in a blanket of post-apocalyptic, 1980s-vagabound inspired anthems. Synthesizing crust, doom metal, and nostalgic synthesizer melodies, Dagger Moon creates a genuinely unique and refreshing atmosphere throughout Citadel. Well worth listening to!

    by Ufosonic Generator
    00:00/00:00
    Anapest Anapest
Ufosonic Generator's The Evil Smoke Possession is a stand-alone album redolent of proto-doom metal, classic rock-and-roll, and dare I say, proto-black metal (ala' Venom and Mercyful Fate). Each song conjures forth specters of solemn reprise, entrancing the listener with each and every pluck on the fret board, belch from the microphone, and percussive rhythm on the drum kit. Highly recommended!

  29. Thirty Hours Work Or Less
    by Psychotic Depression
    00:00/00:00
Screams of The Demented Screams of The Demented
Psychotic Depression introduces a invigorating breath of fresh air to he contemporary doom metal scene: Weaving together a seamless juxtaposition of Saint Vitus, Pentagram, and Celtic Frost (Morbid Tales-era). Psychotic Depression's Thirty Hours Work or Less engages the listener with each rhythm guitar chord, bass guitar melody, and percussive tempo alongside harrowing lyricism and vocals invoking the decadence of urbanization and decay.

Into the Wizard's Sleeve Into the Wizard's Sleeve
Wizard Union's approach towards composing doom metal is a breath of fresh air to say the least. Wizard Union's compelling blend of Black Sabbath inspired rhythms and sludge/punk driven melodies creates an incredibly enjoyable listening experience. Smoking Coffins epitomizes this style, whereas Phantom Fury introduces thrash metal leanings heard through faster rhythm tempos, and an overall more aggressive attitude. I can't wait to hear what Wizard Union rolls from their sleeves next.
  33. Lord Scum
    by Lord Scum
    00:00/00:00
Now I Lay Me Down to Spew Now I Lay Me Down to Spew
Lord Scum's low-fi, murky approach towards doom metal echoes to Pentagram's and Electric Wizard's compelling haze of doom metal domination. I recommend giving Lord Scum's self-titled album a listen.
