So, so, happy to hear the return of one of my all-time favorite Metalcore bands DTR.

Even HAPPIER to hear Kyle Setter back at the helm.

I wish I could go back in time and tell 2010 James that DTR would come back, and that all would be well. They didn't skip a beat.

So happy to be able to support a band that meant so much to me back in the day \m/\m/

I’m not a fan of chug-a-lug Deathcore. It seems like the genre is stagnant and played-out.

I dig Traitors’ Night Terror, though. Traitors’ down-tempo approach, coupled with audible bass guitar, and a “yell-and-scream” vocal style, create a raw, passionate, angry sound – which is refreshing in an age in which super-tight recording quality is sterilizing studio metal.

The album artwork is excellent, too. This is a brutal, raging, EP. Great lifting music.
  8. Reform
    by Visionary
Visionary followed me on Instagram so I figured I’d check them out.
They are very reminiscent of Erra’s 2010 release “Andromeda” (the Erra a lot of Erra fans seem to miss), IMO.
Visionary’s single “Reform” combines beautiful, ambient, backing guitar with driving, groovy “Djent core”. Although they rely on 100% “harsh” vocals, the vocals are presented in such a way that the magnificence of the atmosphere is not drowned out.
This song is beautiful. ambient, yet aggressive, djent. Gimme more.

I was drawn in by Revenants’ awesome-and-clearly-Tech Death album artwork. Great artwork, great recording quality. Don’t love the Deathcore slow chug-a-lug of “The Elder Grave” but Hands of Gaia? Oh BABY.

Vicious, noodley, atmospheric, up-tempo, classic Tech Death. Archspire is obviously sick, but the NovaThrone drummer makes this track. Guy was made for Tech Death. Love this song. You give me an album of “Hands of Gaia”, NovaThrone, and I shall give you all of my dollars.
