I love this album, but that damn “Sun Go Nova” song affects me like ODB’s “Brooklyn Zoo”. Just wanna punch somebody in the fckn face while its playing. Wait til I learn all the words to that shit, i’ma be a straight fool.

    Rocket Fuel Rocket Fuel
Gotta respect this dude's artistry, he's already a dope producer himself and it's been seeming as if and when, he hooks up with other producers he makes it a point to go extra on his writing. Always interesting results with this guy, him and DubLoh compliment each other well. (side note) - it's a split decision on a favorite track for me cuz "Do We Got Time" is the shit.

Go Back To Sellin' Weed Go Back To Sellin' Weed
Gotta love it when one of the Kings of the Concept Album gets on a roll. Fish-N-Grits picks up where Peter Pan Syndrome left off and in itself, has set a new signature move for Zone to claim. There's a fine line between complaining and calling it like it is, and once you've heard the Jay version to it all, you'll definitely know the difference.

From Da Brain From Da Brain
Been playing catch-up on K-Def's instro-albums, this is my 4th one. His engineering skills are as killer as his creations... you need both to bring the true vision to light, interesting to see it come from the same person. I love "High Stakes", "Supa Health" and "For Def's Sake" for the newness of em, but i have to vote for "From Da Brain" as my number one... that repeating piano on the tail of the sequence is taking it there.

  30. Streamline - Instrumental Version
    by Damu The Fudgemunk
The first time i heard that filtered Ramsey Lewis loop was on my Rowdy Records label-mate Da King & I's "Flip Da Scrip" single. I LOVED that song in it's entirety and as many times as I've heard it, it's always hit me like the first time. For Damu to take it and smoothen it out with all of the fly extras to make it bang & bump, is a much welcome entry into my years of digging that groove. I'm not mad at Raw Poetic's vocal version either... i'm just a little too bias about that beat.
  31. Around The Sun
    by J-LIVE
    Worlds Apart Worlds Apart
Intelligent MC's... they're either too smart to rhyme rhythmically or, they're too elevated to bring a topic down to Earth. J-Live's the perfect example of B-Boy intelligence... and if i could only pick one song off of this LP to prove my point, it would be "Worlds Apart". Dude knows precisely WTF he's doing.
