An outstanding release from a master atmospheric guitar texturalist.

It's been over a year since "Inlet" was released, and I'm still binge-listening to it almost daily. For me it's one of those rare albums that I can still listen to straight through and not want to skip through any of the songs. A perfect blend of heavy and beautiful, with bone-crushing riffs fused with huge cinematic atmospherics that sound like a soundtrack to a science fiction epic about interstellar terraforming missions. Easily one of the best albums I've heard in a decade or more.

(Disclaimer: I might be a bit biased having collaborated with Altus myself on the album "Shadow District". Anyway...)
On "Strength of Fate", Mike breaks into awesome & new unexpected territories beyond the ambient realm while keeping the rich cinematic atmospherics & impeccable production quality that he's a master of - fans of vivid instrumental music like Mike Oldfield and Jeff Beck/Jan Hammer will love this. Hell, fans of great instrumental music, period - will love this. Get it. Now. :-)
