2017 is young, but it already needs a balm. This record is a hell of a balm.

    Vine St. Vine St.
This record begins with one of the greatest opening licks of all time and keeps on tearing all the way through. These guys were PHENOMENAL.

    Starvation Wage Starvation Wage
Another outstanding opener holds stellar harmonies and bombastic riffs on a flaming dual leash. This record blew my mind.

(All I Want Is) George Harrison's Wife (All I Want Is) George Harrison's Wife
Clinton Degan, Lord of Esoteric References, goes surprisingly un-esoteric in two fantastically genuine songs about Patti Boyd and the lead singer of R.E.M. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have this single readily available.

    by A bit Much

You're Too Old You're Too Old
A shade of 'Starless and Bible Black' era King Crimson introduces itself to the ABM palette without doing a damn bit of overshadowing. That, in itself, is beyond impressive.

And that's just the A side!

    Domesticated Domesticated
Possibly my favorite two A Bit Much songs, under one lunchbag roof. "Domesticated" is a lurching mass of sax, fuzz, bass, and drums that goes in at least five times as many directions as you think it might. "I Don't Wanna Be a Housewife (For Someone Else's Family)" is full of bold riffs and a pretty shocking amount of pathos. Unforgettable.
  18. All Saints' Day 2011
    by A bit Much
    00:00/00:00
Jesus Never Touched Me Jesus Never Touched Me
"Jesus never touched me the way he's touchin' you" may be the best line of pseudo-sacrilege in music history. It's at least a top fiver.

This record scared the shit out of me before I even realized it was building itself up to do it. Perfectly constructed and loud as fuck!

    The Hunter The Hunter
Killer songs, killer voice and musicianship, and even a killer cover (Cher's "Bang Bang," brilliantly executed by a fellow alto). A genre defying piece of alt-pop that sounds like it'll still be standing when we're all dead and gone!
  25. Starbird Bow

    Dark Report Dark Report
Echoes of krautrock blister a delicious neon surface of psych-pop/prog/impossible-to-explainness. Loop it and feel only triumph.

Jameson Lavo was a spectacular, emotional, genuine, and brilliant songwriter and performer. This is the best evidence to my knowledge, and I'm incredibly lucky to have it in my possession.

    Relska Relska
A dance-if-you-dare record that brilliantly accomplishes an ultra emotional variant of what latter-day Scott Walker picks at. Doomsday never seems so near as when you're listening to Tundra Toddler, and that's a good thing. I like to think of it as the warning we need, and the best possible soundtrack for our collective August.
