Even by Mood Exhibit's own high standards, Focal is something of a high watermark. The album plays out through 11 stunning slices of blissed-out electronica. Wonderfully accessible but always pushing the boundaries and challenging the listener. There is not a dull moment in this veritable sweet shop of musical surprises. It takes real artistry to make music sound this effortless. I really can't recommend this album enough. Buy yourself a copy and support this talented artist.

With the Opaque Vessel, Robert effortlessly turns his hand to a wide range of musical styles to mesmerising effect. The opener has echoes of SPK in its off-kilter otherness. 'Distance' is electronic, dream pop with a surprisingly enchanting vocal line. From here the album strikes out on a true sonic adventure taking in chamber strings, industrial grooves, space rock and ambient soundscapes as audio touchpoints. The album is brave, ambitious and a resounding success. Highly recommended.
