    Home Home
I would not have guessed this was a percussionist's album...unless I was was thinking of percussion as texture and finesse. Deep textures and a most comfortable sense of groove as if these musicians have been playing together for many years.

This is high energy straight-ahead jazz with a contemporary vocabulary that never looses its shine. Nicole Mc Cabe's dazzling alto work is expressive and distinct.

    by Mia Barham
    Hymn Hymn
There is an organic feel and some room to breathe in this recording. Mia Barham's compositions are thoughtful and resolved. I love the surprisingly gentle pairing of saxophone with trumpet .

They've done it again! I especially love that the album ends with a live performance. My favorite recording are usually live because of the energy. These guys have it in the studio as well. An all around solid album.

There is a full range of expression in this work. The solo saxophone is intense and morphs into so many colors. Great for working in the art studio!
  19. Original State
    by Keith Loftis
Weaver of Dreams Weaver of Dreams
Keith plays in the tradition of the jazz masters. His sound is rich and sounds like home. His ensemble is relaxed and tight at the same time. Beautifull compositions throughout and one wonderfully nostalgic cover. <3
  20. Some Kind of Tomorrow
by Jane Ira Bloom and Mark Helias
This duet captures a moment in time when technology was a life saver for musicians. Jane Ira Bloom has log been a favorite saxophonist of mine and here she shines with expressive lines and shimmering tone.
