I have known Katey for many years: she is a great friend, but, beyond that, she is an exceptionally gifted singer-songwriter with a unique, beautiful voice. Proof of Life is one of those albums that is a constant; I return to it time and again. It has been there through good times and bad; much like Katey herself.

I downloaded this album last thing at night and thought: 'Just have a quick listen before bed.' Three hours later and I was still listening. Then, after I had finally slept and gotten up once more, I started listening again . . .

Oh, god, how many times have I played Safe as Houses? If it were an old vinyl record I would have worn it out by now! This was my second foray into Lenover's work. I came to it hesitant, expecting disappointment after the excellent GITW; I was wrong. Oh, how I was wrong. It is all I am coming to expect of Lenover and more. Buy this.

I heard the Girl in the Window after watching the Film Banshee Chapter. While the film was good, I think that it will not remain long in my memory; the same cannot be said of Mark Lenover's music: hypnotic, experimental, vivid, with a lyrical poetry that I haven't encountered since my early days of listening to David Sylvian. Buy this album. If there is one musician that deserves your support, it is this guy. (or you can continue spending your money on the twerking masses; your choice).
