Lazily branded as being in the style of Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Jethro Tull, Nymphae is so much more. Yes, the opening bars of Caccia alle steghe may sound like Works-era ELP but I'm reminded of more classic RPI bands, Celeste and Semiramis. Released in the 90s at the beginning of the third phase of prog, the vocals (especially) but also the strong melodies call to mind early Marillion and even Trespass-era Genesis.
A great record that deserves more attention. I'd love to own this on vinyl
