  4. All That May Do My Rhyme
    by Roky Erickson
My all time favorite Roky recordings! I know his legacy will forever be tied to earlier albums, but this is the album I am always reaching for. Deceptively simple compositions with a real gut punch in the delivery. My heart breaks hearing him sing on this album.
I'm also amazed at how this album keeps delivering, track for track. I had difficulty pulling songs from this album to make compilations because it hurt to decide on ONE song!
Greatly appreciate you making this available!

Listen to this and start a band.
Couldn't pick a favorite. Sandcastles came up in my feed and I loved the sentiment. Then Tell Them Where to Go gave me the fire to start a band. Pillow is the perfect closer.
This album stirs things in me.
    Makes me give a damn.
    Reminds me that everything matters.
Listen to it, start a band, take heart.

    Unravel Unravel
Too much praise to write here, so rather that talk sound and production, I'll talk about the experience of listening to it.
Homogenic is full of songs that are quiet and intimate, while also sounding larger than life and roaring. It is difficult to put this album on and not be consumed by it. You can't, say, do laundry or drive your car or eat a sandwich with these songs on or you'll just rise to your feet and belt out half-heard lyrics. Rousing music that also prompts deep introspection.

Nice Time (written by Lee "Scratch" Perry) Nice Time (written by Lee "Scratch" Perry)
I bought the Dancing Queen/Dire Wolf 7" around '96 and wrote to ask for more. Russ made a cassette of every Bob Records recording and I played it to death.
This DM collection captures the fuzzed out pop I loved. They really made covers their own, and I didn't appreciate ABBA until DM cut straight to the heart of Dancing Queen.
A band that could just as easily be fun and light or mean and dark. There's something on here for any mood.
