Suffocation, A Drowning: II - Somniloquy (The Distance Of Forever) Suffocation, A Drowning: II - Somniloquy (The Distance Of Forever)
Brooding funeral doom, slow and heavy.
Can't believe this is made only by two people.
  2. Severance
    by Darkest Era
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
Sorrow's Boundless Realm Sorrow's Boundless Realm
After being completely entranced by their debut album, Darkest Era have came back with a heavier sound without losing their celtic influences.

Every song is as catchy as it is heavy with just the perfect amount of irish folk goodness.
  3. Miserable
    by Bongripper
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    Endless Endless
This album is the aural equivalent of the dread coming from realising that your life will be over swallowed slowly in a tar pit.
Struggle all you want but the riffs will slowly and surely overpowers you in a few minutes.

Also, that cover look sick as
  4. Seven Thunders Roar
    by Stoned Jesus
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
I'm The Mountain I'm The Mountain
A brilliant slab of stoner metal with a mix of doom and psychedelic rock influences that creates an amazing album with heavy fuzzy riffs that echoes throughout the whole album from start to finish with an epic 16 minutes of stoner bliss near the end.
  5. Holy Serpent
    by Holy Serpent
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    The Plague The Plague
Fuzzy doom from down under giving a homage of the psychedelic 70's with a modern twist.

The vocals and riffs greatly compliment each other, keeping it slow and trippy without losing it heavyness along the way.

One of the best releases of 2015.
  6. The Book Of Kings
    by Mournful Congregation
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
The Catechism Of Depression The Catechism Of Depression
Holy fuck, I know funeral doom was a bleak genre but this album begins with maximum bleakness.

It is sad and yet so beautiful,
It's creates a state that felt like home to me.
It's mesmerizing at some point and calming at another but all in all it's awe inspiring.

Easily one of the best examples of doom in aural form.
  7. Cult Of Fire - मृत्यु का तापसी अनुध्यान
    by Iron Bonehead Productions
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    खण्ड मण्ड योग खण्ड मण्ड योग
Are you bored of praising Satan?
    How about praising Kali instead?

Equally heavy and atmospheric, this Czech tribute to the goddess of death is full of blast beats and grinding riffs that we all love in black metal but it also adds eastern/oriental influences without reducing its black metal aggression, creating a roller coaster ride of eeriness and mystical bliss.
  8. As Once Was
    by The Temple
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
All Hope Is Gone All Hope Is Gone
Never have I've heard a voice so perfect for doom since Warning.
The instruments also succeed in making an amazingly bleak atmosphere of doom.

Looking forward to their next release.
  9. Caged In Flesh
    by Horsehunter
    featured track 00:00/00:00
Stoned To Death Stoned To Death
    Heavy brutal sludge.

Banging your head in tune of this album feels like smashing your head through a wall of riffs with occasional stops to drown in an abyss of distortion.

One of my top 5 albums in 2014 and easily the best debut album of 2014.
  10. Garland of Skulls
    by Queen Elephantine
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    Potency Potency
More than 30 minutes of repetitive bass riffs and tibetan buddhist influences that puts listeners to a state of trance.

The chanting style vocals did well to complement the riffs and further sends listeners to get lost in a temple of droning doom.
  11. Soma
    by Windhand
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    Orchard Orchard
Amazing Electric Wizzard worship mixed with slow fuzzy drone and strengthened with one of the most haunting female vocals ever recorded.
