  11. Knife Play
    by Xiu Xiu
This was the first Xiu Xiu album i ever heard, and i loved it immediately and still do - along with basically everything else Xiu Xiu-related. Jamie Stewart’s music is fearless in virtually every sense. this music is beautiful, noisy, cathartic, and wonderfully unique. but most importantly, this music is HONEST.

Too Fucked To Move (Feeling Like I Do) Too Fucked To Move (Feeling Like I Do)
i’m a huge fan of John Davis. just a brilliant, beautiful musical mind. i am also a home recordist and multi-instrumentalist, so i am quite partial to his 4-track home recordings. Drones Over Donelson is one of my favorite collections of music of all time. but you can’t go wrong with anything he’s made available. i also really dig his cover of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Never Understand”. wish it was still available to stream. but yeah, go John!!!!

Little Fallen Star (10-28-12) Little Fallen Star (10-28-12)
John Davis is a hero, man. This music is SO IMPORTANT. And the fact that he does it on a Yamaha MTX4 (my 4-track of choice also) makes it even better. i am a one-man band, and i'm telling you, it ain't easy making this stuff with just 4 tracks. but that very limitation means your songs have to ne the shit, right? John's songs are absolutely genius, and i have nothing but respect for him in all of his endeavors. BUY THIS ONE!!!! really, all the tracks are my favorite :)
