  17. Chasing Winter EP
by Lucas Paine w/ The Cutting List
    Sally Away Sally Away
The honesty of these compositions and dedication of their delivery is the first impression that strikes me about Lucas Paines expressions. Folk music is often created to describe character and place with the intent of connecting with the listener, here we are given the opportunity to experience music created without the intent to impress, but I suspect, for gratefulness of dwelling in life. Chasing Winter reminds us of the unique experience of an organic voice, intended for nature.
  18. The Seal Woman Suite
by The Boy Who Spoke Clouds
The Seal Woman's Dance The Seal Woman's Dance
A beautiful realisation of this tale. The blending of art, music and storytelling make this a perfect escape from one's own existence to contemplate the world of The Seal Woman. The Boy Who Spoke Clouds creates lush soundscapes with this soundtrack album, the music enriching the story with its portrayal of nature and the emotions of the characters. I love the dynamic of The Seal Woman's Dance with its trance like effect on the listener, transplanted into the world of ice..
  19. Alles is ijdelheid
    by broeder Dieleman
De nieuwe zeven jaar De nieuwe zeven jaar
I had to have this album after I was lucky enough to get a vinyl copy of Gloria. Finding the same expert songwriting in Alles is ijdelheid, I find the music translates imagery, allowing the listener to connect with the landscape even without understanding the language. Great music for travelling across the land, even on the other side of the world. Very well placed in the documentary Land of Change.
  20. Beautiful Fountain
    by Roller One
    Shadow Shadow
I've been enjoying Beautiful Fountain since the launch at the NSC. I was lucky enough to catch them and was impressed by the evolution since the intimacy of Motorsports. Roller One continue to be my favourite Australian country/folk band with their beautifully crafted and musically aware songs. Nothing competes, yet there are amazing performances of subtle instrumentation, including the rich and effortless vocals of a natural timbre. Each song is a unique display of character.
  21. Trucksong soundtrack

Isa's eyes (reprise) Isa's eyes (reprise)
Awesome soundtrack to an awesome novel, every moment drives you further into the realm of Trucksong. My favourite song: Isa's eyes (reprise), beautifully poignant.
