Nice work from this supergroup. Love the lead guitar playing, and Peter Buck and Corin Tucker prove to be compatible co-architects. A sturdy album. Buy it to have your expectations met.
The harmonies sung on "Oh!" make the song sound completely reinvented. One Beat was a great album for Carrie but to me it was Corin's worst vocal performance. I also would rather play this than The Woods which was too fucking loud.
I play this song all the time. I don't know why but it just has this vibe about it. I've heard some other songs but they didn't have what this song has for whatever reason.
This is my favorite Sleater-Kinney album actually. The hooks are catchier than ever and set side-by-side with St. Vincent's production techniques and synths and whatnot they stand out and punch even harder.
