When Κτηνωδία was released, it left me speechless. I knew that we'll soon hear greater things from these guys...

When I heard they are releasing Κυκεώνας, the first single Fearless came as a punch in the face and listening to the whole record was a direct knock-out... :p

So, these three guys guys from Athens have created a Κυκεώνα of heavy rock mixed with metal raw power and fused with exotic flavours of Greek folk rhythms and melodies....

HELL! THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO HEAR! BRING IT ON GUYS!

I don’t know if this is rock, stoner, psychedelic or post… All I know is that this album is beautiful in its entirety…

This supreme and majestic melodic death masterpiece from a band with a bright future was quietly heralded by the previous “Primordial Woods” single. It was a matter of time to move from the single to a full length LP and expand their talent in all directions. Riffs and melodies intertwine together in an everlasting cosmic dance while vocals haunt and reach the darkest depths of the soul. Each track leaves you breathless until the next, up until you reach the end only to start all over again.

Now… that was unexpected (as a release) and unbelievable (as a performing act). It simply proves Sakis’ talent in composition but a huge thumbs up and “HELL YEAH” to Notis Tsigas who arranged the music for piano and performed it! Enough said… I’m returning to the beautiful atmosphere of this work and to the journeys ii takes me along…

Sakis Tollis’ music matures as he grows older. Power, melody, feeling, now meet emotion in a mixture of (not-just-black) metal genre.

Many people see nostalgia, a retrospective culmination of Rotting Christ’s past but I beg to differ; I think we are witnessing a future version of himself, the music that is to come… as a Salvation? Not sure but it will be with Passion(!) to take us to the stars (Ad Astra).

As for a favorite track? hahahaha… I just picked one randomly… All are masterpieces...

An impressive work of progressive metal, seems initially to be taken out of the best moments of the genre’s behemoths (Fates Warning, Dream Theater). However, with enough distinction and personality, featuring Greek folk elements here and there, the musicianship mastery of the band members make tracks like Nemmortal, Norchestrion and Circadian, bright jewels for the genre and for metal in general. A must have album!!!

As if the original was not sky-high, this one goes even further. Superb compositions, beautiful emotions, excellent performance. This recording makes the original soundrack... classic ;)

Majestic, bombastic, supreme barbaric epic metal. Runeshard gloriously fill the void Bal-Sagoth left behind. These symphonic, magic-illuminated tracks are the best example of a bright future in the making.
The clarion is heard to awaken the Silver-clad Legions at the Altar of the Dreaming Spire for the Coronation of the new Barbarian Kings...
