Was lucky enough to be on the same bill as Toke at this year's Maryland Doom Fest. These guys killed it. And with good reason. This album is a good testament to their heavy/bluesy sound. They just pummel their way through each tune. No let up. Damn fun album.
Phenomenal live band and this album does a damn fine job of capturing what Wizard Eye does best. Bluesy, sludgy, and dense, but with a ton of groove and riffs that hook you right away. One of my favorite heavy bands on the scene these days.
What's not to love? Some of their best songwriting and stellar production. The return of Hill's Crown Fuzz and Balch working with not one, but two Creepy Fingers fuzz pedals to create a massive wall of guitar tone. And Reeder's drums sound reminiscent of the earlier albums, big and Bonhamesque.
