I can’t believe it’s coming up on 20 years since this album was first released. This was one of my most played albums since then, and it still sounds fresh years later. This record is such a time capsule of a project as it’s the only Foreign Exchange album with a heavier Hip Hop influence and rapping throughout. Yet the album is a soulful & eclectic departure from Little Brother albums. I truly hope this album is celebrated in some way for 2024 (20th Anniversary!)
I AM GAWD always drops quality Hip Hop! He is an emcee who is meticulous about his bars, content & the art! This collab with The Black Depths is incredibly dope! Quotable bars over hard / head nodding beats… what’s there not to like?!
Blu did it again! Blu is not only a dope emcee, but a true artist and a poet. I’d argue these past few years have been the strongest stretch of Blu’s career, and that’s truly saying a lot with his catalog!
