Fun album with Sun Ra's band with the "sensational guitars." Great to hear these folks playing some different music, much by Sun Ra and very playful and fun to listen to... Count the references to various classical pieces peppered throughout...
This grand old man of the piano (along with being a great singer and lyricist) lays out some great music that shows that he's still has the creative spark and the technique to execute some fine ideas. Great choice of material. Have followed him since the late 80's when he was VH-1 host.
This is an important and enjoyable picture of a typical road date for the Ellington band, Kudos to Storyville for keeping it available for everyone to check out on Bandcamp.
