Bubbling with raw innocence and hope, this is the ultimate dreampop escapism, transcending time and space, even as demonstrated in these lyrics. I definitely recommend this entire album. This remix by Robin Guthrie is the best I've heard from him in a while. I'm also a big fan of OMD and this remix is right on the money.
  7. Happy Dancing Woman (Radio Edit)
by Pure Phase Ensemble 4 (ft. Mark Gardener)
    00:00/00:00
My absolutely fave track from this Pure Phase Ensemble album. I dig anything that Ride's Mark Gardener is involved in, but the vocals on this track floor me. Absolutely beautiful! The remix transforms this track into a more condensed and powerful experience for me.

The reviews weren't joking when they said that Tape Runs Out may be the next 'big thing' out of Cambridge. I totally see it, especially when I close my eyes and listen to what I consider to be perfection within the musical scope. Very well done. Very impressed with every aspect of this, right down to the artwork. Wonder if there are any videos forthcoming...

    by Wozniak
    00:00/00:00
This is high, but pure, energy and gets me excited about music at a time when everything seems mundane or reeks a sense of repetition. I love this! Like if you had thrown the innovation of early Tortoise & drive of Sputnik's Down in with the best that light-filled shoegaze has to offer.
  12. Rotation / Live and Let Die
    by Ummagma
    00:00/00:00
    Rotation Rotation
Chapterhouse, Lush, Broadcast, Bowery Electric ++ I can hear it all in this release. Very cleverly crafted. Really appreciate these golden vocals & the fact the lyrics are appended. Brilliance!

This sound is Inter-stellar! This collaboration between Ummagma & Sounds of Sputnik puts them on par with the best of them: Lush, Curve, No Joy & Hammock! Recommended for anyone into dream pop, post-rock, shoegaze, noise rock mixed with a tad of electronica.

    Lama Lama
The follow-up to the band's self-titled album, this one shows more maturity and light-hearted melancholy, highlighting the fine line between light and dark, ups and downs. This music takes you on a journey and you are ever happy for Ummagma to take the wheel!
  15. Lama (Sounds of Sputnik Remix)
    by Ummagma
    00:00/00:00
Everything that Ummagma touches is amazing and this Sounds of Sputnik remix adds an exciting electro psych vibe that becomes addictive not even half-way through the first listen. I can't wait for their full album together! Definitely the best modern rock music to ever come out of Eastern Europe!

This is proof of the ongoing brilliance and incredible expansiveness of this Wales-based project. The Celtic and ethereal factor here won my heart over. Convinced this would sit comfortable among older 4AD or newer Bella Union. Lovely!

Ethereal other-wordly bliss with hues of both light and dark, excitement and melancholy and also the ying-yang factor of male and female vocals. Lovely.

What a brilliant find! With so many recollections of great bands with this or that in common with the various elements in these 4 tracks, I think the most important thing is that this is great music, not to mention the positive refreshing feeling they leave you with (and leave you wanting more). Great stuff!
