Have My Back Have My Back
Never thought I'd enjoy pop punk this much at my age, but then again, Delay is no average pop punk band. "Been Good" is a really great breakup song with a posi spin. I have a really hard time NOT smiling while listening to these guys.

    by WHITE REAPER
    00:00/00:00
    Half Bad Half Bad
My two favorite discoveries of 2014: finding White Reaper on Bandcamp, and finding a grape Airhead in my envelope when I received the cassette. This debut is a flawless batch of anthemic and fleet-footed American punk. I'm really digging the clattering Keith Moon drum fills and the minimal keyboard flourishes in particular, but every song on this short EP is worth digesting in its entirety.
  27. Hjortene S/T
    by Hjortene
    00:00/00:00
Classic Rock FM Classic Rock FM
Anything Valient Himself touches turns to rock 'n roll gold, but Hjortene have enough sludgy blues-punk swagger on their own to keep me coming back for more. Fans of Fu Manchu and Hellacopters should dig this, and Epic Indian sounds like a long-lost Kyuss B-side.
  28. The State I'm In
    by Rough Kids
    00:00/00:00
    Insightful Insightful
Somewhere between Fear and the Clash lies the melodic assault of Los Angeles punk outfit Rough Kids. Seems like they haven't done much for the past year or so, but fortunately, The State I'm In is an excellent collection of catchy punk tunes that's worth putting in rotation.
  29. Primitive Age

  30. BRAT CURSE
    by BRAT CURSE
    00:00/00:00
    About Time About Time
Former band Astro Fang was impressive, but this new group with their drummer and singer/guitarist is a far tighter outfit. This first LP is mostly gleeful and speedy head-bobbers, with a few slow rips peppered in. Digging it.
  31. MEAT WAVE
    by Meat Wave
    00:00/00:00
    NO DEFINITION NO DEFINITION
I discovered Meat Wave through the excellent Let's Pretend label. Snotty and radical and explosive, like sneezing while eating pizza.

  33. Tight Bros LP
    by TIGHT BROS
    00:00/00:00
    Wedding Ring Wedding Ring
Songs about getting beat up by girls, drinking while gaming, and how much marriages suck. These guys are in a ton of other great punk bands - check out Vacation, Pretty Pretty, and New Creases.
  34. Yama-Uba EP
    by Diarrhea Planet
    00:00/00:00
    Mutt Feast Mutt Feast
When I die, I hope my last words are half as glorious and invigorating as Diarrhea Planet's music.
  35. Dream Dad 7"
    by VACATION
    00:00/00:00
    Leave Home Leave Home
They sound exactly how a band called Vacation should sound: Loud and catchy and fun. The bass in Leave Home is downright nasty!
  36. Sorry
    by WHITE LUNG
    00:00/00:00
    Bag Bag
The guitar work is so unlike any punk of this genre I've ever heard. This album is catchy and vicious in all the best ways.
  37. Charles Park III
    by Makeup and Vanity Set
    00:00/00:00
I Am Become Death I Am Become Death
    80's horror-synth bliss.
  38. True Predation
    by Struck By Lightning
    00:00/00:00
    Funereal Funereal
Their first album Serpents was more catchy, but this is a much more cohesive and emotionally-charged album. Devastating and perfect D-beat metal.
